She is Legal Practitioner and Arbitrator, is the Principal Partner of Marcus-Okoko & Co., a law firm based in Abuja, with expertise in Corporate Commercial Law, Capital Markets, Legal and Regulatory Compliance, Project Management and Arbitration. With over 15 years post Call-to-Bar experience, she has garnered extensive knowledge, expertise and experience in these areas, having participated in several transactions across these fields.
She is a trained Corporate Governance Practitioner and a seasoned trainer and facilitator in Corporate Governance, Regulatory and Legal Compliance, Corporate and Company law and practice, Mergers and Acquisitions, Managing Board Performance and Expectations and Project Management. She has worked on several transactions in a number of countries across West and East Africa as well as Europe and America. She combines being a Consultant to a number of Microfinance Institutions and some multinationals with being a Legal Expert-in-Residence for several organizations including Successory Nigeria Limited and Global Knowledge Group. She serves as Company Secretary/Legal Advisers to several Boards and Governing Councils, Multinational Companies, Government Agencies and State Governments.
She is a registered Capital Market Solicitor, a member of the National Prosecution Coordination Committee (NPCC) and a certified Arbitrator of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK). She is on the Panel of Neutrals of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) as well as the Abuja Multi-Door Courthouse (AMDC). She is a World Bank Scholar of the Enterprise Development Centre (EDC) of the Pan Atlantic University, and a Member of the Executive Committee of the Abuja Chapter of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK), Nigeria Branch.
Diane was educated at the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, from where she obtained an LL.B degree, after which she proceeded to the Nigerian Law School from where she obtained a B.L. She also holds a Masters degree in International Law and Diplomacy from University of Jos.
Diane is very fluent with information technology and has a passion for enterprise promotion, youth empowerment and institutional development. She has been involved in projects and program designs, process evaluation and governance compliance for a number of companies in Nigeria and abroad.
She is a member of several professional bodies and Organizations including; Nigerian Bar Association, International Bar Association, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators UK, and Nigerian -London Business Forum.
She sits on the Board of several companies and Microfinance Banks and is married with children.
